Here are some commonly asked questions. For more information please contact us and we will be glad to answer them.
I do not have a high definition television will I still be able to get programming after the digital switchover.
As long as you subscribe to a television service provider, whether cable or satellite you will be un effected. You will continue to receive broadcasts however you may notice parts of the image missing at the sides of your screen or some of your channels have moved. The only viewers impacted will be those that use an aerial or local over the air antenna to receive signal typically referred to as rabbit ears. Televisions not newer than 2006 do not contain a digital tuner and thus cannot tune in the new digital channels. An external digital tuner is required to make older televisions work with over the air broadcasts. Keep in mind that while digital transmission not only effects picture quality and provides a stunning picture it is also much more energy efficient.
At what point do I need to see a electronics consultant about my project?
If your project is part of a new addition, new construction or you will be having furniture made for your installation it is important to see an electronics consultant prior to making any final decisions. Room size, locations of equipment and layout is critical in providing the best performance. The simplest factors can have a huge impact on sound and image as well as costs. Buying top of the line equipment does not guarantee you will have the best performance. At AudioTec Designs initial consultation is free.
